It started easy… We’ve been cruising 60mpg on the motorway, down from Kildare towards West Cork. All brilliant, until the point when i started hearing rough metal sounds from the gearbox the moment i lifted my feet from the gas pedal (5th gear). When i pressed clutch - all good, silence. I tried reducing a gear - same problem. What i found out, at the certain RPM range, it worked silently (as it should).
